Cesare LAZZARINI (1931-2010)
Italia

Shelf-sculpture, unique piece 1956.

Four double shelves in black painted welded flat bars hang on either side of the ovoid tube central pivot.

Short round irons painted in red are welded to the ends of the shelves, forming random patterns of geometric abstraction.

Other long round irons linking the different parts come to architect the whole with elegance.

Two threaded rods with brass ferrules placed at both ends of the central pivot allow fixing by screwing between floor and ceiling.

H. 310 cm, w. 100 cm, d. 45 cm.

A sculptor and painter, Lazzarini teaches at the Mantua Institute of Arts after having participated in the Venice Biennale in 1956 and the Milan Triennale in 1957.
