Pair of Diamond armchairs, variant of the model designed around 1953 for the Villa Planchart in Caracas.
Leather and skins. Wooden feet, metal ball joint.

The leather of the armrests and the sheepskins have been replaced in the model.
There are several variations of this model available as an armchair, sofa and corner sofa.
NB: The photos of our armchairs before restoration were sent to Mr. Licitra who, not having
found them in the documentation, does not wish to take the responsibility of attributing them to Gio Ponti. By its design and the quality of manufacture we believe that it is a work of Gio Ponti but without certificate we can only attribute it.
Our pair of armchairs is close to the variant appearing on Gio Ponti’s official website in the section: Furniture for Cassina, 1940 :wooden legs, straight backrest tilt, backrest and seat cushions protruding from the frame.
However, our armchairs are fitted with profiled wooden legs fitted with metal ball-joint glides, the design of which is closer to the example drawn for the Villa Planchart.
