Charlotte PERRIAND (1903-1999)

Grooved table, model designed around 1954, piece acquired at the Steph Simon Gallery around 1960

Ash dining room table. Thick top with a slightly chamfered edge and assembled with tongues. Assembly ensured by threaded rods; hidden on the edge by circular pellets also in ash. The top has two long grooves dug on each edge of the longitudinal parts. The four legs slightly set back from the corners and elliptical in shape.

Provenance: Succession X., Mantes-la-Ville. Work acquired from the Steph Simon Gallery around 1960. This table was part of a complete layout designed by decorator Colas Guérin for Mr. and Mrs. X., including a furniture set by Charlotte Perriand.
