Charlotte PERRIAND (1903-1999)

Grooved Table, model designed circa 1954, piece acquired from Galerie Steph Simon circa 1960

Ash dining table. Thick top with a slightly chamfered edge, assembled using splines. Assembly secured by threaded rods, concealed on the edge by circular ash plugs. The top features two long grooves carved into each edge of the longitudinal sections.
The four legs are slightly set back from the corners and are elliptical in shape.

Provenance: Estate of X., Mantes-la-Ville. Work acquired from Galerie Steph Simon around 1960. This table was part of a complete interior design conceived by decorator Colas Guérin for Mr. and Mrs. X., including a furniture ensemble by Charlotte Perriand.
