In late November 1912, Camoin went to join Matisse in Morocco. They would spend the three winter months together in Tangier. “A rare period of good health and fruitful work” for the two friends who throughout their lives would recall “those beautiful Moroccan hours”.
This masterpiece would happily conclude Camoin’s Fauvist period.
