Research into animating a wall with sculpted relief inspired numerous works during the 1950s/60s. Among the major achievements are the two immense Stained-Glass Reliefs in agglomerated stone and crystal blocks for the Saint-Rémy church in Baccarat (1952-56), as well as the transparent Wall-Relief and the bas-reliefs for the Meudon workshops. The motif of this work, found in several reliefs, evokes the patterns formed on the sand by the sea receding at low tide.
