The Sorrows of Orpheus is Darius Milhaud’s second opera, composed between 1924 and 1926, based on a libretto written by Armand Lunel, and commissioned by Princess Edmond de Polignac.
Jean Hugo, who was close to Darius Milhaud, designed the sets and costumes for it.
