Rare “SCAL LS 11” Bed, model created in 1946

Frame in folded sheet steel, base in steel tube and ferrules, all in original “corsaire” red lacquer.
Spring and metal slat base in original yellow lacquer.
Mattress and bolster in natural linen remade to the original model.

H 25.5 / 37 x 190 x 80 cm

Provenance:
Marc Quentin (1921-1997), a major architect of the reconstruction in Royan, set up his office in the prototype house known as “Métropole 8×12” designed by Jean Prouvé in 1951.
The furniture for his office and residences—visitor armchairs, Cité desk, etc.—was commissioned directly from his friend Jean Prouvé.
